Have You Put Your Wordpress Blog at Risk?

Every day, many self hosted Wordpress blog owners use search engines to find new and attractive themes for their blogs. Some bloggers settle for free themes while some go for pirated editions of premium wordpress themes. But what many of them doesn't know is that they are unknowingly putting their beloved blogs into possibilities of high risk. Even if there's no big risk, there's enough chance that you're sending outgoing links to some sites which you don't know at all. Yes, you maybe giving back links to evil people who stole links from your site without telling you.

Webmasters beware of image copyright infringement

You must have used images obtained from the internet, like Google image search, and used in your websites. If you say you never did, then either you don't have a website or you are telling open lies. It is so deeply rooted that every one of us, whether knowingly or unknowingly, have, some time in our lives, infringed image copyrights. It is very normal and very common in new and even long time webmasters that images are obtained and used from image search engines. Some proud webmasters claim they never did this. Its actually their ego that holds them from accepting a basic truth and sometimes they deny due to fear or law.

What has happened to webmasters?

I wonder what has happened to the Webmasters around the world. A very high percentage of webmasters build their websites due to some other motive than the subject matter of their websites. Most important of that 'other motive' is earning money. No I am not saying that the desire to earn money is not fair. But quality of web content is on the downward angle. So much as content quality is going down, the graph of demand for SEO is going upwards.

Unoriginal content is no good, stay out of it, says Google

This post: AdSense Facts & Fiction Part V: Unoriginal content - Inside AdSense I was waiting for long to be officially told in the Google AdSense blog. In fact, I was about to let off my next post on this same subject matter. Nowadays Wordpress plugin designers are coming up with various kinds of auto posting / content pulling robots which actually 'steal' text & image contents from other websites and post them into another blog. This, in my opinion, adds to the massive junk content in the Internet which is of no good use.

Did you ever contribute to Wikipedia?

Do you have any idea how much pageviews were recorded for the Wikipedia main page last month alone, i.e., December 2010? The Wikipedia Main_Page has been viewed 155,604,382 times! That's something you and I can never dream of even in our biggest fantasy dreams. Roughly 5,019,496 pageviews per day. The Wikipedia WikiLeaks page has been viewed 5,968,763 times in December 2010, that's 192,540 pageviews per day.

Membership at Flixya dot com

Got myself enlisted as a member in Flixya.com - I heard they allow sharing of photos, videos and blogs - all in one place. What is my expectation from Flixya? Not much, really. Until and unless I am doing something exceptional or noticeable, nobody has the time to watch an insignificant user. How do I say this? Because I also don't follow many other insignificant users. Its not possible for the want of time.

Initiating my first weblog today!

I don't spend much time in the Internet, but as much as I do, I try to enjoy the time. And that doesn't mean only chatting, Facebook time pass, Tweeting or watching videos in YouTube. I love to read. Primarily news stories from around the world. I love to read people's blogs.
