Unoriginal content is no good, stay out of it, says Google

This post: AdSense Facts & Fiction Part V: Unoriginal content - Inside AdSense I was waiting for long to be officially told in the Google AdSense blog. In fact, I was about to let off my next post on this same subject matter. Nowadays Wordpress plugin designers are coming up with various kinds of auto posting / content pulling robots which actually 'steal' text & image contents from other websites and post them into another blog. This, in my opinion, adds to the massive junk content in the Internet which is of no good use.

Many designers have built plugins, advertised it through Google AdWords, they allured several bloggers saying that such auto posting robots will bring them thousands of AdSense dollars. People, in the greed of earning some extra cash, have purchased these and then, we all know there are now millions of blogs making the SEO tougher for Google and also tougher for us.

But now AdSense blog officially came out with their facts & fiction verdict. I hope now it makes full sense as to why you and I and everyone should say NO to Wp-o-Matic plugin, or WP Robot plugin.. and probably many more of such types in the market.

Read this:
Fact: We don’t allow sites with auto-generated or otherwise unoriginal content to participate in the AdSense program. This is to ensure that our users are benefiting from a unique online experience and that our advertisers are partnering with useful and relevant sites.
And also read this:
Sometimes we come across sites that are using software to generate automated content. These sites might look like normal news sites, but the information is completely plagiarized. Scraping content and passing it off as one’s own is not only wrong, but it also happens to be a serious violation of our policies.
I think Google should have come out with this post much earlier. By now, designers have filled the market with autoposting plugins, people purchased, warez sites pirated them, thus paid and free both types of uses are currently in full swing in the Internet.

Thank God, we don't use 'plugins' in Blogger blogs!

But having said this, I must also mention that it also applies to content taken from Articles sites. AdSense blog's post also justifies why you should not take any articles from article directories.

Yes, even if they allow you to take content, on condition of retaining the footer copyrights of the original author - its still plagiarism of content. Its 'unoriginal' as said by Google. It is unoriginal because some other site already published it. Here you may not be 'steal'ing content, but you'll definitely be duplicating it.

Google says NO, so don't do it. Period.
